Originally designed in early 1937 as a new KGVI definitive Stamp to replace the  existing 10/- Kangaroo and Map stamp, this design was later change to a 2/- value. For some unknown reason the stamp was not issued although it was at an advanced stage of design.

The existing 2/- Kangaroo stamp continued in use at that time.
